About five years ago my family and I just arrived in Sasebo, Japan almost a month before Thanksgiving. However , every year before that time my dad would drive us up to my grandparents house to get prepared for thanksgiving the day before. The next day all of my family would circle around the dinning room on Thanksgiving to bow our head while my grandfather would say the prayer.
Since we were in a completely different continent we had to celebrate thanksgiving with just the five of us. Everyone played their part in make this second to last holiday of year special. My two brothers would prepare the dinner table ,while dad was experimenting his first attempted to make cranberry sauce. (It was a success) Mom would help me make the chocolate pecan pies and she would make the pumpkin pies and everything else.
November 25, 2010 is so important to me , because it is just simply for the fact that my family and I was able to pull together a great Thanksgiving. Without our real furniture (we had loner furniture) or our family back home in the states.
